#TTTalks: first webinar for #TeamTranslator
12 February 2026 – #TeamTranslator hosted their very first webinar this February, kicking off a highly-requested resource from the community.
The webinars, titled #TTTalks, are aimed at expanding freelance translation professionals’ skillset and knowledge on how to navigate the industry.
The first talk was with #TeamTranslator member Chris Thompson, a multilingual typesetter. Chris gave an introduction to desktop publishing (also known as DTP in the business) for freelance translators, giving viewers insight to the different considerations there are when working with a designed document.
The webinar peeled back the curtain on an often misunderstood aspect of the translation process. During the session, attendees commented that they’d worked on InDesign documents, but hadn’t ever seen all of the aspects that go into preparing a document for translation or resetting it after translation has taken place.
Attendee Elia Riciputi said of the session:
“Chris’ webinar was extremely clear and informative, both for newbies and for seasoned professionals. I’ve finally had a glimpse of what happens to the texts I translate before they come to me and after I deliver them. I’ve learned the importance of proper file preparation and the crucial role played by a master DTPer such as Chris. I’m even considering getting properly trained so that I can offer DTP as an add-on service to my clients!”
#TeamTranslator has plans to continue putting on regular webinars for its members. Webinars will be available for #TeamTranslator members to watch live, and non-members or those who can’t attend live can watch all sessions on demand on our YouTube page. Catch Chris’ DTP webinar here:
